LAHORE: Five passengers were killed when a passenger bus hit a van from behind on the M2 Motorway near Sheikhupura in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
According to details, the accident occurred at the Motorway M2 near Kot Abdul Malik where a van coming to Lahore from Mansehra collided with a bus, killing five persons on the spot and injuring ten others.
Two authorities under the Health Ministry to be dissolved
The accident is believed to have been caused by the bus driver falling asleep at the wheel, leading to the fatal collision.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, five lives were lost, and 10 passengers wer rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Rescue sources informed that the death toll may rise further some of the injured were in critical condition.
Authorities are investigating the incident further, and the victims’ families have been informed.
