ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has predicted that the first Ramazan in Pakistan will likely fall on March 2.
The Meteorological Department has stated that the moon for Ramazan is unlikely to be sighted in Pakistan on February 28 (29th Sha’ban) thus the first fast across the country will be observed on Sunday, March 2.
According to the department, the moon will be born on February 28 at 5:45 PM. On 29th Sha’ban, some areas will have clear skies, while others may experience cloud cover.

The department further explained that at sunset, the moon’s age will be 13 hours and 12 minutes, whereas a minimum age of 19 hours is required for it to be visible.
However, the final decision will be announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which will convene on February 28 to establish the commencement date of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak
Notably, the first fast in Saudi Arabia is expected on March 1, as Saudi authorities predict the Ramadan moon will be sighted on February 28.
