CAIRO: Pakistan’s journey at the World Junior Team Squash Championship 2025 came to an end in the quarter-finals after a 0-2 defeat to England on Wednesday.
The event, being held in New Cairo, Egypt, saw sixth-seeded Pakistan bowing out against fourth-seeded England in a one-sided contest.
Pakistan Squash Federation confirmed in an X post that “Pakistan’s Impressive Run at World Junior Squash Team Championships 2025 ends in quarterfinals.”

In the opening match, England’s Dublin Roberts defeated Pakistan’s Ans Ali Shah in straight sets 3-0. In the second match, Abdullah Nawaz was also outplayed 0-3 by Alexander Broadbridge, sealing Pakistan’s elimination and England’s spot in the semi-finals.
Earlier quarter-final fixtures saw top-seeded Egypt overpower seventh-seeded Czech Republic, second-seeded USA defeat ninth-seeded France, and fifth-seeded India stun third-seeded South Korea.
Pakistan had reached the quarter-finals with an emphatic 2-0 win over Poland in the pre-quarterfinals held in Egypt on Tuesday.
In the opening match, Pakistan’s Abdullah Nawaz edged past Poland’s Jan Samborski in a gritty four-game contest, winning 3-1 with game scores of 12-10, 4-11, 11-8, 11-2.

Anas Ali Shah sealed the tie for Pakistan in a nail-biting five-game thriller against Franciszek Michniewicz. After falling behind two games to one, Anas staged a strong comeback to claim victory 11-7, 9-11, 10-12, 11-5, 11-3.
The semi-finals on Thursday will see Egypt face England, while USA take on India.
