JAHANIAN: At least eight students were injured in a stampede after panic broke out over an ‘earthquake; at Government Girls High School in Jahanian.
According to Jahanian school officials, the students mistook vibrations from road construction work adjacent to the school for an earthquake and in a state of panic jumped from the school building while some ran out of the building causing a stampede.
As a result of this, eight students sustained serious injuries.

A school teacher explained that heavy machinery being used for development work on the nearby road caused significant vibrations.
According to Rescue 1122, the injured students were immediately shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where they are getting the necessary medical treatment.
