ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed on Tuesday that government-appointed doctors visited Adiala jail for medical examination of party founder and former prime minister Imran Khan.
He said that Imran Khan was reportedly in good health and expressed his gratitude to PTI workers and supporters.
In a tweet on “X”, Barrister Gohar said: “Today at about 4pm two doctors – an ENT specialist and a medical specialist visited Khan sab at Adiyala jail. We were informed a while ago that Alhamdullillah, Khan Saab is in good health and had exercised for an hour today. We shall get medical reports from them soon and I will share with you, InshaAllah. I express my gratitude to every worker and supporter of PTI who were concerned about Khan Saab’s health. God bless you all.”
The news of medical check up comes after Imran Khan’s personal physician, Dr Asim Yusuf Hussain, was denied permission to meet him at Adiala jail.
Dr Yusuf, who waited outside the jail for over half an hour, had provided his details to the security staff but was ultimately not allowed to see Khan.
Speaking to the media, Dr Yusuf said, “I was informed that only doctors from PIMS Hospital are authorized to conduct medical examination of Imran Khan. The jail authorities did not permit me to meet with Imran Khan.”
After a lengthy wait, he left the premises without meeting the PTI leader.
