ISLAMABAD: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has accused India of adopting terrorism as a state policy against Pakistan during an interview with Al Jazeera. Addressing security concerns, Lt Gen Chaudhry further asserted Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities remain “invincible and fully secure.” “No one can dare target our nuclear program,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s strategic assets reflect its responsible nuclear power status and contribute to regional stability.
The military spokesperson identified Indian intelligence agency RAW’s former chief Ajit Doval as the “mastermind” behind terrorist networks operating against Pakistan. “Several countries, including the US and Canada, have acknowledged India’s state-sponsored terrorism,” Lt Gen Chaudhry stated, stressingthat New Delhi’s designs particularly aim to destabilise Balochistan through systematic conspiracies.
DG ISPR refutes reports of backchannel contacts with Imran Khan
DG ISPR drew a clear distinction between legitimate jihad and extremist violence, stating: “In Islam, only the state has the authority to declare jihad. No individual, group or organization holds this right.” He described the Khawarij ideology as completely alien to Pakistan’s Islamic traditions and national values.
The interview comes amid heightened tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors, with Islamabad consistently presenting evidence of Indian involvement in cross-border terrorism at international forums.
