ISLAMABAD: An officer of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) was kidnapped at gunpoint in Islamabad, it emerged on Saturday.
According to police, NCCIA Deputy Director Cybercrime Muhammad Usman was abducted from the basement of a parking area at Zara Heights, H-13.
CCTV footage showed four armed men stopping his car and forcibly taking him away in a white Corolla.
The incident has raised serious concerns over security in the federal capital as even a senior officer of a key institution appear unsafe.
A case has been registered at Shams Colony Police Station on the complaint of the officer’s wife, Rozina Usman.
Rozina Usman told the Shams Colony police that her husband, Muhammad Usman, serves as Deputy Director Operations at the NCCIA and has been working on highly sensitive cases.
She said four unidentified armed men arrived in a vehicle at their residence in Zahra Heights, H-13, and abducted her husband at gunpoint.

Police have registered a case against the unknown abductors and launched an investigation.
The federal government established the NCCIA in 2024 to combat cybercrimes.
The agency is operating within the framework provided by the Cyber Crime Act and investigating cases and inquiries previously handled by the FIA.
The NCCIA is consist of a Director General, Additional Director General directors, Additional Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors and such other officers .
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man from Murree has mysteriously gone missing from the federal capital, police said on Saturday.
According to sources, Qasim Abbasi, a resident of Misyari Post Office, Murree, had been working at a spice factory in Islamabad’s Industrial Area, I-9, for the past one and a half months.
Family members said that Qasim left the factory on October 13 during the day and has been missing since. His last known location, according to them, was traced to the I-10 Sector of Islamabad.
Police have launched an investigation into the disappearance.
