It said that the high court had already forwarded recommendations received from the search academic committee to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, asking the appointment of the VCs under section 12 Universities act 2012. However, it has been more than a month the court order was not complied with.

The petitioners highlighted that ignoring court orders in such a manner was tantamount to committing contempt of the court.

They underscored that 25 public sector universities in the province were functioning without VCs which has pushed the institutionas into administrative quagmire.

It was pleaded that a contempt of court proceedings should be initiated against the respondents for failing to implement the court order.
