ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court judge Justice Aminuddin Khan chaired a meeting regarding the formation of constitutional benches.
During the hour-long meeting, it was decided that the six available judges will hear constitutional cases on November 14 and 15.
According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court Registrar, the meeting was attended by Justice Jamal Mandokhail while Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar attended the meeting via telephone from Karachi. The meeting focused on the formation of constitutional benches as mandated by the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

The statement said that Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar will arrive in Islamabad on Wednesday (tomorrow), after which another meeting will be held under the chair of Justice Aminuddin Khan to finalise the benches.
During the meeting, the Supreme Court Registrar briefed the committee on cases to be referred to the constitutional benches, with a decision to prioritise older cases.
The statement said that Justice Ayesha Malik would not be available on November 14 and 15 on the constitutional benches.
It was decided that the six judges would hear the constitutional cases on those dates.
The committee issued directives to the Supreme Court Registrar to issue schedule for hearing the cases.
