Cold, dry weather predicted across Pakistan


ISLAMABAD: Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of Pakistan during the next twelve hours, while rain is likely in the upper regions.

According to the Met Office, cold weather is expected in Islamabad and its surrounding areas.

However, rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with snowfall over the mountains, are expected at isolated places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Rain is also expected in some areas of Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Gujrat, Chakwal, Sialkot, and Narowal.

Light to moderate fog in patches is expected in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Nankana Sahib, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, and Hafizabad.

Most districts of Balochistan will remain cold and dry, according to the Met Office.

Similarly, most districts of Sindh will also experience dry and cold weather.

Rain is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, and Abbottabad.

Heavy rain and snowfall are expected in Battagram, Kurram, and Bajaur.

Temperatures of major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad and Muzaffarabad seven degrees centigrade, Lahore ten, Karachi fifteen, Peshawar eight, Quetta and Gilgit minus-one and Murree zero degrees centigrade.
