CJP Qazi Faez Isa retires today, new CJP to take oath tomorrow – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is all set to retire today after serving for over 13 months.

A full court reference will be held in his honour on Friday morning at 10:30 AM.

However, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah will not attend the reference as he is performing Umrah.

Following the reference, Chief Justice-designate Yahya Afridi will host a farewell dinner for Justice Isa, attended by other Supreme Court judges.

Nawaz Sharif set to depart for London and US trip

According to the SC roster, Justice Faez Isa will dedicate his final day to chamber work.

Meanwhile Justice Yahya Afridi will take oath as the new Chief Justice tomorrow at 11 am. President Asif Zardari will administer the oath to him.

The Prime Minister, Governors, and Chief Ministers will attend the oath-taking ceremony, along with military leadership and lawyers.
