Ceasefire deal a massive victory orchestrated from position of strength – HUM News

ISLAMABAD: Experts say the ceasefire agreement reached in Doha is a huge victory for Pakistan and a result of position of strength gained after Pakistan’s armed forces taught a lesson to the other side through swift and targeted strikes.

This ceasefire agreement is a win of that clear and unambiguous demand through which Pakistan asked Afghanistan to stop extending every kind of support and facilitation to terrorism, they stressed.

No details have been made public so far about the ceasefire agreement reached thanks to the role played by Qatar and Turkiye. The security and diplomatic experts cite a reason for this.

They say not sharing the details with people and the continuation of talks — next round scheduled for Oct 25 in Turkiye — reflect the fact that the Afghan Taliban were given a face-saving opportunity.

But why this face-saving option?

It is because the Afghan side didn’t have any demand and only genuine and justified demand was from Pakistan, which has not only been accepted but also fulfilled.

The diplomatic and security experts are confident that the series of terrorism acts originating from Afghanistan and carried out in Pakistan will stop immediately.

Both sides will meet again in Turkiye to discuss the details for sorting out the issues, they said.

Meanwhile, there is a loser — India yet again.

How and why?

The experts say India would have been certainly disappointed because all the conspiracies it had hatched didn’t work.

YOU CANNOT TRUST THEM

On the other hand, ordinary people think a bit differently and say “we cannot trust” them.

One of the citizens said the Afghan Taliban and their associates first opted for naked aggression but then took refuge in dialogue after the armed forces responded forcefully.

Another said Afghanistan started seeking help after realising the strength of Pakistan.

The overall public response to the ceasefire agreement shows that the people say not only the Taliban regime would face the consequences in case of any future adventure but also India if it tried to use Afghanistan as a stooge.
