ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has once again categorically rejected India’s allegations regarding the Pahalgam incident, with the Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Mahmood stating that New Delhi has failed to provide any credible evidence to support its claims. He added that spreading jingoistic propaganda on social media by India cannot provide the ground to launch attacks on Pakistan which the former is quite eager to do.

“Can any country justify military aggression based solely on social media rhetoric?” Khan questioned, condemning India’s violation of Pakistan’s territorial boundaries. During the weekly media briefing on Thursday, he accused India of using the Pahalgam incident as a pretext for propaganda against Pakistan. He reiterated that Islamabad had offered to cooperate in a transparent investigation in good faith, but India instead resorted to baseless accusations.

He also highlighted the 2007 Samjhota Express bombing, in which 40 Pakistani nationals were killed, stressing that the perpetrators were never brought to justice.

The spokesperson warned that India’s “war-mongering” threatens regional peace, bringing two nuclear-armed states to the brink of confrontation. Despite repeated provocations, Pakistan has exercised maximum restraint, he said, while urging the international community to hold India accountable for its reckless actions.

Khan also criticised India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a blatant disregard for international agreements. “As an agrarian economy millions depend on this water-sharing pact,” he said, adding that New Delhi’s unilateral move reflects its irresponsible approach to global commitments.

The Foreign Office further alleged that India has been operating “assassination squads” in other countries, undermining diplomatic norms. Pakistan reiterated its commitment to peace but vowed to defend its sovereignty against any aggression.
