SIALKOT: By-elections will be held on Sunday (today) in the Punjab Assembly constituency PP-52 Sialkot, following the death of Arshad Javed Warriach.
A total of 15 candidate are contesting for the seat, including Hina Arshad Warriach from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Raheel Kamran Cheema from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Fakhir Nishat Ghuman from Kotkot.

Polling is set to take place from 8 am to 5 pm without interruption. The constituency has 296,563 registered voters. Over 157,492 males voters and 139,071 female voters are eligible to vote.
To accommodate the electorate, 185 polling stations have been established, with 57 designated for male voters, out of combined 71.
Security has been a main concern, with over eleven polling stations classified as most sensitive and an additional 38 deemed sensitive. Over 2,000 police personnel, including officers and elite force members, will be deployed to ensure a secure voting environment.
