YAZD: At least 28 pilgrims from Pakistan perished and several other were injured in a bus accident in Yazd province, Iran, early Wednesday.
The accident occurred when the bus carrying 53 passengers caught fire near the Taftan-Dehshir check point.
The Iranian Red Crescent confirmed the death toll and is currently assisting with the rescue operations.

According to reports, the bus was transporting the pilgrims from Pakistan when it erupted into flames in Iran under circumstances that are still under investigation.
Emergency services, including the Iranian Red Crescent, responded quickly to the scene. They provided aid and transported the injured to nearby hospitals.
