August 28 shutter-down strike: no holiday in Sindh schools tomorrow – HUM News


KARACHI: All schools in Sindh will remain open tomorrow, August 28, Tuesday, despite the nationwide shutter-down strike announced by traders across Pakistan.

The spokesperson for the Sindh Education Department advised against paying attention to false news and speculations regarding tomorrow’s school holiday.

He confirmed that all government and private schools in Sindh, including Karachi will remain open as usual. He added that the school administrations are in contact with parents to provide updates.

As of now, no holiday has been announced for schools in Punjab or other provinces for August 28.

Traders’ bodies have announced that they will observe a complete shutter-down strike and take to the streets on Wednesday (Aug 28) to protest against the government’s imposition of various taxes.

The strike call has been endorsed by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Central Traders Association (CTA), Sindh Traders Alliance (STA), Rawalpindi Traders Association, Rawalpindi Restaurants, Caterers, Sweets and Bakers Association, Anjuman-i-Tajiran Timergara and other various trade organisations.
