RAWALPINDI: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Thursday approved a five-day physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in a vandalism case.
The Court on the request of state prosecutor Zaheer Shah approved the five-day remand of Imran Khan and handed him over to the police custody.
Section 144 imposed in Rawalpindi ahead of PTI protest
The police will interrogate Imran Khan in Adiala Jail and will present him before the court on November 26 (Tuesday) after the end of the physical remand, the court ruled.
Imran Khan, was arrested by the police in Rawalpindi, hours after being released on bail in the Toshakhana 2 case on Thursday.
The former Prime Minister was arrested in connection to a new case filed at the New Town Police station. The case ad been filed under various sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act, and pertains to incidents of arson, rioting, assault, and resisting police.
He is facing multiple charges under Sections 7 ATA, 21-I ATA, and various provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code, including sections 353, 186, 285, 286, 148, 149, 427, 109, and 188.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted Imran bail in the Toshakhana case. It required him to submit two surety bonds of Rs1 million each.
The court also ordered his release after the bonds were posted.
