ISLAMABAD: The ANTI-Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan conducted operations in Karachi, Islamabad, Dera Ismail Khan, and Hyderabad, a spokesperson revealed on Tuesday.
In Mehran town, Karachi, 65 grams of heroin and 50 grams of cannabis were seized from a suspect, according to the ANF. Another 100 grams of cannabis were seized from a suspect near a hostel in Dera Ismail Khan.
In Islamabad, multiple arrests were made, with 500 grams of cannabis seized from a suspect in a vehicle, and another 141 kilograms of cannabis, as well as 14 kilograms of opium, were seized near the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza.

Another operation in Hyderabad resulted in 2 kilograms of cannabis being seized from a suspect.
A total of 5 people were arrested, with an ANF spokesperson stating that arrested individuals confessed to selling drugs to students in educational institutes. Other suspicious individuals, seen around educational institutions, are under strict surveillance as part of the ongoing national crackdown.
In the beginning of September, the ANF initiated a nationwide campaign to eliminate drug use in educational institutions. ANF Director Syed Sajeel Haider emphasized the importance of removing drugs from educational institutions. Haider also stated that $6.5 billion worth of drugs were seized this year. 1400 individuals involved in those drug smuggling operations were arrested.
As part of a public awareness campaing, the ANF has held over 5000 awareness sessions in educational institutions across Pakistan.
ANF launches nationwide campaign for drug-free universities
On Monday, an ANF spokesperson revealed that eight individuals involved in selling drugs around education institutions had been arrested. So far, the operation has resulted in over RS 4.2 million of drugs being seized.
On September 23, ANF officials raided a factory producing pharmaceutical drugs and illegal narcotic tablets in Danishabad. Substances and equipment were seized leading to the arrest of two suspects found inside the facility. The suspects were supplying drugs in hostels and educational institutions. ‘
