KARACHI: Amid growing tensions between Pakistan and India following the Pahalgam false flag incident, Pakistan has partially closed specific portions of its airspace over Karachi and Lahore for one month.
In this regard, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), stating that designated sections of the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions (FIRs) will remain closed daily from 4am to 8am, effective May 1 to May 31.

Despite the closure of airspace between Karachi and Lahore, commercial flights will be rerouted via alternative paths during the restricted hours.
This comes a day after flight operations for PIA’s Gilgit-Skardu route were temporarily suspended due to a brief three-hour airspace closure.
PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez confirmed that normal operations resumed after the re-opening of the airspace.
