BANNU: Police in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said Tuesday that six militants were killed after they launched an early morning attack on an installation of the Frontier Constabulary.
Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan told the media in Bannu that 6 FC and security forces personnel were martyred in exchange of fire with militants.

He said 19 people, including security forces and police personnel, were injured in exchange of fire.
The RPO said earlier that one of the attackers used Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) for the suicide blast and later four or five armed men entered the building after blowing up the gate.
Security forces, FC, CTD and police took part in the operation, he said. DIG Sajjad Khan and DPO Saleem Abbas Kulachi personally led the operation.
The operation continued for 12 hours.
The RPO said that a group of militants entered the FC building after a suicide bomber used a vehicle loaded with explosives.
Jabhatu Ansar al-Mahdi Khorasan (JAMK), affiliated with Hafiz Gul Bahadur, claimed responsibility for the attack.
Policemen martyred in Lakki Marwat
Another terrorist attack was reported in Lakki Marwat. Police said that militants opened fire on two policemen on duty on Tuesday morning, martyring them at the scene.
“Two policemen were going for duty on a motorcycle when miscreants belonging to a banned group martyred them on Begokhel road near Mela Shahabkhel,” according to a police report available to HUM News English.

Those martyred were identified as constable Asad and constable Samiullah. “Terrorists fled the scene and a heavy police contingent reached the spot and launched an operation to apprehend the culprits,” the report said.
