RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed 43 terrorists belonging to Fitna-Al-Khawarij and other militant groups in a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted since December 9 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
According to the ISPR’s statement, security forces conducted an IBO in Lakki Marwat District on the night of December 12-13, effectively engaging the Khawarij location and killing six terrorists.
In total, 18 terrorists have been neutralized in KP since the operations began on December 9.
“In Balochistan, on December 13, the security forces, after an intense fire exchange, successfully neutralized ten terrorists in two separate IBOs conducted in Musa Khel and Panjgur Districts. Since December 9, twenty-five terrorists have been sent to hell in Balochistan,” the ISPR added.
The operations have been seen as a major blow to Khawarij and other militant groups, underscoring the security forces’ capability and readiness to address threats to national security.
Following the ISPR’s statement, commendations poured in, with the president, prime minister, and other national leaders praising the successful operations against terrorists.
President Asif Ali Zardari lauded the courage of Pakistan’s armed forces, saying, “The nation stands united with our brave soldiers in their mission to eradicate terrorism from the country.” He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring peace and security.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the forces, highlighting their sacrifices and efforts in safeguarding the nation. “The successful operations are a testament to our resolve to uproot all forms of terrorism,” he said.

Similarly, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi applauded the timely actions of the security forces, saying, “Our security forces have achieved significant successes against Khawarij terrorists… We will completely eliminate Khawarij terrorists with the support of the people.”
The military’s media wing reaffirmed the military’s resolve to eliminate terrorism, emphasizing that “these operations will continue until peace in the area is restored and Khawarij are eliminated, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.”
