Triptii Dimri has been at the center of speculation regarding her exit from the much-anticipated romantic film Aashiqui 3, starring Kartik Aaryan. Reports suggested that Triptii was dropped due to her bold on-screen image, allegedly clashing with the filmmakers’ vision of an “innocent” female lead.
According to sources quoted by Zoom, the role required “innocence reflecting through,” and the team felt that Triptii’s recent performances in films like Animal and Bad Newzz portrayed her as “too exposed” for the part. “Aashiqui is a legendary, soulful love story, and the makers do not see Triptii fitting the parameters,” the source stated.
Amid the buzz, director Anurag Basu has addressed the claims. Speaking to Mid-day, Basu dismissed the rumors, stating, “Not true, she knows it.” However, he chose not to delve into further details.
Meanwhile, Aashiqui 3 has been indefinitely postponed, with the search for a new female lead reportedly ongoing. Triptii, on the other hand, has shifted focus to other projects, including Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara with Shahid Kapoor and Dharma Productions’ Dhadak 2 alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi.
