Timothée Chalamet has achieved a significant milestone in his career, winning his first-ever SAG Award for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. The victory not only marks a turning point for the actor but also reinforces his ambitious pursuit of excellence.
“I know we’re in a subjective business, but the truth is, I’m really in pursuit of greatness,” Chalamet declared in his acceptance speech. “I know people don’t usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats.” He cited icons like Daniel Day-Lewis, Marlon Brando, and Viola Davis, adding, “I’m as inspired by Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps… This doesn’t signify that, but it’s a little more fuel. It’s a little more ammo to keep going.”
Reflecting on the immense effort behind the role, Chalamet shared, “This was five and a half years of my life. I poured everything I had into playing this incomparable artist, Mr. Bob Dylan, a true American hero.”
At 29, Chalamet is now the youngest SAG Award winner for Best Actor, surpassing Nicolas Cage’s previous record. With this triumph, he cements his place among Hollywood’s elite—and shows no signs of slowing down.
