The superstar recently expressed his desire to play the role of an assassin, stating that he has a fresh approach to portraying the bad guy.
In August 2024, Shah Rukh Khan attended the 77th edition of the Locarno Film Festival. While in the city, he recorded an episode of the podcast “Locarno Meets,” which has now been released. During the episode, the host asked him if there were any types of roles he hasn’t yet explored but wished to play in the future.
In response, Shah Rukh shared that he would love to take on many roles and characters, but he wasn’t sure how differently he could portray them. He stated, “I am not stereotyped; I am a hero type.” SRK stated that he approaches his roles in a larger-than-life manner as a hero and expressed uncertainty about how much audiences would appreciate that.
King Khan expressed his wish to portray a bad guy again, saying, “Because I think I have a new way of playing a bad guy.” He revealed that he completed some action items on his wish list in 2023 and now wants to play an assassin.
During the conversation, Shah Rukh Khan also shared his unique thought process about acting. He noted that many actors begin to believe in the characters they portray. SRK explained, “Lot of actors talk to me like, ‘This character won’t say this’ and I am like you’re the creator of the character.”
The “Jawan” star believes this could be the reason his performances aren’t as ‘pure’ compared to others. SRK added that he doesn’t fully believe in the character and stated that his job is to make the audience believe in it.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is preparing to begin shooting his next movie, “King”, with his daughter, Suhana Khan.
