Renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan recently graced the ‘Echoes of Revolution’ concert at the Army Stadium in Dhaka, captivating the Bangladeshi audience with his soul-stirring performance.
The concert, organized by Spirits of July, was held to support the families of those affected by the violent protests in Bangladesh during July-August this year. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and his team performed without compensation, generously forgoing any profits from ticket sales.
The event featured a mix of local talent, including bands like Art Cell, Charkat, Aftermath, and Silsila, as well as rap artists Shezan and Hanan. The organizers announced that all proceeds from the concert would be donated to the ‘Shuhada Memorial Foundation,’ which supports the families of the martyrs and injured.
In recognition of the vital role students played in the Bangladesh revolution, special ticket discounts were offered. VIP tickets were reduced from 10,000 to 8,400 Bangladeshi taka, and general tickets were lowered significantly. Special booths were set up across universities in Dhaka for easy access to tickets.
Earlier this year, Pakistani singer Atif Aslam also performed in Bangladesh at the Magical Night 2.0 concert, where his two-hour extended performance thrilled fans.
