Diane Delano, renowned for her memorable roles in television and film, has passed away at the age of 67 following a brief illness, her representative confirmed.
Delano gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Officer Barbara Semanski in the hit series Northern Exposure and Sister Beech in the 2006 remake of The Wicker Man. Fans also cherished her comedic turn as Roberta “Bobbi” Glass in Popular and her appearances as Agent Hilda in Days of Our Lives.
Her extensive filmography includes notable roles in Miracle Mile, The Ladykillers, A Mighty Wind, and Out of These Rooms. Beyond live-action performances, Delano lent her distinctive voice to beloved animated series such as Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Teen Titans, Infinity Train, and Rugrats.
In 2012, Diane Delano won an Indie Series Award for her performance in Fumbling Thru the Pieces. Later, she shared the Los Angeles Film Award for Best Ensemble in 2019 for the coming-of-age drama Relish.
Her final role was in Paradise: A Town of Sinners and Saints, a bluegrass musical comedy released earlier this month. Directed by Justin Issac Ward, the film captures the battle for the soul of a small coal-mining town.
