Nauman Ijaz voices frustration over rising electricity bills

Lahore: Renowned senior Pakistani actor Nauman Ijaz has expressed strong discontent over rising electricity prices and the 200-unit system, demanding that the government immediately abolish this “oppressive system.”

In a satirical statement shared on social media, Nauman Ijaz wrote that “an ordinary citizen stares at the meter, sometimes at the sun, and sometimes at their children, but relief remains nowhere to be seen.”

He added that the 200-unit limit has made people’s lives miserable.

Further, the actor stated that this system is designed only to confuse and punish the public, while any concessions or relief are limited to paper.

In Pakistan, soaring electricity prices are becoming a daily reality, impacting individuals across all sectors of society. Coupled with frequent load shedding, these power shortages exacerbate hardships, especially during the scorching heat, making daily life increasingly challenging for the common people.

Many social media users agreed with Nauman Ijaz’s remarks and criticized the government. One user commented, “This 200-unit limit is only meant to trap the public, there’s no relief—only punishment.”
