Pakistani actor and model Khaqan Shahnawaz has emphasized that the true battle for both Pakistan and India lies not in rivalry with each other, but in combating poverty and climate change.
In a recent video message shared on Instagram, the actor urged the public to shift focus toward these urgent and shared challenges.
In his video statement, Shahnawaz recalled how both nations were engaged in a “war of memes” during the monsoon season. He noted that people in India were joking about stopping Pakistan’s water supply, while Pakistanis responded by saying the monsoon would bring much more than just water from India.
The actor pointed out that the reality of the monsoon was devastating for both countries, causing widespread destruction.
Shahnawaz stressed that instead of creating memes and engaging in hostile rhetoric against each other’s religions or nations, the two countries should come together to find a solution to climate change.
He warned that if they fail to do so, in ten years, “neither India nor Pakistan will remain; only the memes on the internet will.” His comments have resonated with many, highlighting a growing public concern about environmental issues and a desire for regional cooperation.
