Atul Parchure, a prominent actor in the Marathi film industry and recognized for his appearances on The Kapil Sharma Show, passed away on Monday at the age of 57 following a two-year battle with cancer.
Family sources confirmed that he died earlier today, leaving behind his mother, wife, and daughter, who have requested privacy during this difficult time.
Throughout his illness, Parchure demonstrated remarkable resilience, earning admiration from fans and colleagues. Earlier this year, he made a triumphant return to the stage with performances in the Marathi play Suryaachi Pille. However, his health deteriorated, leading to his admission to H N Reliance Foundation Hospital two weeks ago, where he spent his final days.
Parchure began his acting career in 1985 with the film Khichdi and became a household name known for his comic talent across both Marathi and Hindi entertainment.
He gained fame in Hindi television with shows like Comedy Nights With Kapil, R K Laxman Ki Duniya, and Comedy Circus. His notable works also include Marathi films such as Vasu Chi Sasu, Navra Majha Navsacha, and Tarun Turk Mhatare Arka, along with Hindi films like Partner and Brave Heart. In 2017, he appeared in the Marathi play Niyam Va Ati Lagu, directed by Girish Mohite.
