Cardi B has addressed recent claims about receiving payment for her appearance at a Kamala Harris rally, firmly denying that she was compensated by the campaign.
The rapper’s response came after conservative commentator Candace Owens questioned whether she was paid for her involvement. “I didn’t get paid a dollar and that’s on my three,”
Cardi B said, adding that she even covered her own expenses for travel and glam. “You know damn well I’ll argue you down about politics FOR FREE,” she added, asserting her commitment to political activism.
The rapper had spoken at Harris’ Milwaukee, Wisconsin rally during the 2024 presidential election campaign, where she compared her own experiences as an underdog to that of Kamala Harris. “Like Kamala Harris, I’ve been the underdog, underestimated, and had my success belittled,” Cardi said during her speech.
Despite the efforts of Hollywood elites and celebrities like Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande, Harris ultimately lost the election to Donald Trump, who secured a second non-consecutive term.
Cardi B, in a post-election message, expressed admiration for Harris, saying, “No one has ever made me change my mind and you did! You have shown my daughters and women across the country that anything is possible.”
In related news, Oprah Winfrey also denied receiving payment for hosting a celebrity town hall with Harris, stating, “I was paid nothing – ever.”
