Pakistan’s cement sales jump 10.33% in August 2025
Domestic cement dispatches reached 3.097 million tons in August 2025, compared to 2.807 million tons in August 2024, marking a 10.33% month-on-month increase.
According to data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), cement exports also rose by 22.13%, increasing from 613,857 tons in August 2024 to 749,723 tons in August 2025.
However, the figures for July 2025 were stronger, as the industry recorded an 18.61% rise in domestic sales and an 84% surge in exports compared to July 2024. Total cement dispatches in August 2025 stood at 3.846 million tons, up 12.45% from 3.421 million tons during the same month last year.
In August 2025, north-based mills dispatched 2.795 million tons of cement, showing an 8.10% increase from 2.585 million tons in August 2024.
South-based mills dispatched 1.05 million tons, up 25.93% from 0.835 million tons. Domestic sales by north-based mills rose 8.64% to 2.586 million tons, while south-based mills increased 19.81% to 510,758 tons. Exports from the north grew slightly by 1.84% to 208,669 tons, whereas exports from the south rose significantly by 32.30% to 541,054 tons.
During the first two months of the current fiscal year, total cement dispatches reached 7.847 million tons, 20.88% higher than 6.492 million tons during the same period last year. Domestic dispatches rose 14.25% to 6.090 million tons, while exports jumped 51.29% to 1.757 million tons.
North-based mills delivered 5.004 million tons domestically and increased exports by 44.99% to 440,654 tons. South-based mills increased domestic sales by 36.46% to 1.086 million tons and boosted exports by 53.53% to 1.316 million tons.
An APCMA spokesman said the country faces tough conditions due to heavy rains and floods and urged the government to cut cement taxes to lower rehabilitation costs in affected areas.
