New Vehicle transfer fees introduce: Small Cars Rs3,000, Big Cars Rs12,100
LAHORE – Punjab authorities have increased the transfer fee for bikes, cars, and heavy traffic vehicles by 10 percent following the approval of Budget 2025.
The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department announced the revised rates, confirming a ten percent hike in transfer charges for motorcycles and various categories of vehicles. The new rates have officially come into effect.
Under the updated structure, the transfer fee for motorcycles has increased by Rs 55, rising from Rs 550 to Rs 605. For cars with engine capacities between 650cc and 1000cc, the fee has gone up by Rs 275, now totaling Rs 3,025.
Cars with engine sizes ranging from 1000cc to 1800cc now carry a Rs 550 higher fee, bringing the new rate to Rs 6,050. Meanwhile, for vehicles above 1800cc, authorities have raised the transfer fee by Rs 1,100, setting the new charge at Rs 12,100.

Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) are also affected by the hike, as authorities have increased their transfer fee by Rs 550, raising the new rate to Rs 6,050.
Excise officials confirmed that the updated rates have taken effect immediately and apply to all relevant vehicle categories. They stated that the increase aims to boost revenue collection and streamline the vehicle registration process across Punjab.
