Lost driving license replacement fee in Dubai for July 2025

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has certain fees and a process in place for people who need to replace a lost or damaged driving license, whether they are UAE nationals or residents living in Dubai.

This service is available to individuals, including UAE citizens, residents, taxi companies, and government departments like Dubai Police and Civil Defence. To apply, people must be medically fit and above the legal driving age.

According to UAE law, it is mandatory for drivers to carry a valid driving license with them at all times because officials can ask to see it for verification whenever needed. If you lose your driving license and do not get it replaced, you could get into trouble or even face fines.

The fee structure varies by age group. Customers under 21 years old will be charged AED 100 for a replacement, while those aged 21 and above will need to pay AED 300.

In both cases, an additional AED 20 is required as Knowledge and Innovation fees.

Where to Apply

The process to replace a lost or damaged driving license takes only five minutes and can be done through different digital platforms.

These include the RTA website, RTA smart apps like “RTA Dubai,” partner apps, the “Dubai Now” app on Google Play and App Store, and the Mahbub Chatbot services on RTA’s platforms. Self-service machines are also available for this. No extra documents are needed to apply for this service, which makes it a convenient option for people who are eligible.
