KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a sharp rise on Tuesday, with the per tola rate increasing by Rs6, 900, according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA).
Following the latest increase, the price of 24-karat gold reached Rs435,100 per tola, while the rate for 10 grams rose by Rs5,916 to Rs373,028.
In the international market, the gold price also surged by $69, reaching $4,140 per ounce, the association added.
Earlier, Gold rates in Pakistan kept rising as the precious metal gained strength in the international market.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold went up by Rs5,500 per tola, reaching Rs428,200 in the local market.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs4,715 to Rs367,112, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose by Rs4,322 to Rs336,531.
In the global market, gold prices jumped by $55, reaching $4,071 per ounce. The increase is mainly due to renewed investor interest caused by economic uncertainty and currency fluctuations.
