The Islamabad Traffic Police has launched a digital driving license card with twelve advanced security features, making it impossible to forge or tamper with.
The card will soon be linked to Excise, NADRA, and Safe City systems, enabling better control of traffic violations.
Holders of valid driving licenses in the Islamabad region can apply for the digital card by paying a fee.
Digital Driving License Card Fee
In May 2024, the Islamabad administration revised the fee structure for driving licenses. The digital driving license card fee is now fixed at Rs2,000.
Updated Driving License Fee Structure
The new fee structure includes increased charges for learner permits, non-professional, and professional licenses. The changes aim to improve services and streamline traffic management.
- Learner Permit (valid for six months): Rs1,000 (previously Rs349)
- New Motorcycle + Car Driving License (Non-Professional): Rs3,000 (previously Rs1,800)
- Professional License (LTV and HTV): Rs10,000 (previously Rs2,100)
- Motorcycle + Professional License: Rs10,000
- Digital Driving License Card Fee: Rs2,000
These updated fees came into effect after a notification from the chief commissioner’s office earlier this year.
The new digital license card initiative highlights Islamabad Traffic Police’s efforts to modernize traffic management and ensure secure, forgery-resistant documentation for drivers.
