Dry weather expected across most parts of country on Tuesday – HUM News


WEB DESK: On Tuesday, most parts of the country are expected to experience dry weather, with colder conditions anticipated in the mountainous and northern regions during the night and early morning hours, according to latest forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Going region by region, in the federal capital, Islamabad, and its surrounding areas, the day will remain dry, PMD said.

Likewise, Punjab is also set to see dry conditions across most districts, including the popular hill stations. However in the northern regions of Murree and Galiyat and surrounding areas temperatures are expected to drop significantly during the night and early morning.

Sindh will remain hot and dry throughout the day in most of its districts. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, dry weather is forecast for the plains, while colder conditions are likely in the province’s northern areas during the night and morning.

Balochistan will also experience dry weather across most of its districts, with cooler temperatures expected in the northern parts as night falls. Similar conditions are likely in Kashmir, where the weather will stay dry but turn cold during the night and early morning.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, the weather is expected to remain dry throughout the day, though residents should prepare for cold conditions in the morning and nighttime hours.

NATIONWIDE POLIO CAMPAIGN CONTINUES

The government of Pakistan is carrying out a nationwide polio vaccination campaign this week. The National Emergency Operations Center (EOC) said on Sunday that the nationwide vaccination campaign will run until October 19.

Polio vaccines will be given to 45.4 million children across 159 districts of the country, according to a statement issued by EOC. Alongside the polio vaccine, an additional Vitamin A dose will be given to children. In this respect, more than 400,000 health workers will visit door-to-door to make sure every child is vaccinated against polio.

In Southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the polio vaccination campaign will take place from October 20 to 23.
