ISLAMABAD: The United Kingdom (UK) citizens will be issued new national passports from December, British media said on Saturdday.

The new edition to be introduced by the British government will feature the royal emblem of King Charles III, which includes the Tudor Crown, according to reports.

The British Home Office has also said that the revamped passports will also showcase the natural landscapes of the four nations— Ben Nevis, the Lake District, Three Cliffs Bay and the Giant’s Causeway.

Notably, passports bearing Queen Elizabeth’s emblem will remain valid until their expiry date. Since 2023, passports in England have been issued in the name of King Charles.

Passport services for Pakistanis in UK

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Monday inaugurated two major initiatives at the Pakistan High Commission in London – ‘Provision of Land Record Services’ and the ‘One Window Passport Processing System’.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the move fulfils a commitment made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in April 2025, aimed at making governance more efficient, transparent and accessible for the Pakistani diaspora.
