FAISALABAD: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the electric bus in Faisalabad — the Manchester of Pakistan — and again blasted those criticising the province she rules, saying she would not tolerate any finger-pointing at Punjab.
Addressing a ceremony to launch the modern transport service in Punjab’s second-largest city, Maryam said she always responded to criticism positively.
“Criticise me, it doesn’t me affect anyway,” she said, but warned that she would not tolerate any criticism of Punjab and its people no matter what happens.
“Why some people have objection over the development of the people of Punjab,” Maryam questioned.
“No one needs to make decisions about Punjab. Punjab can make its on decision,” said the chief minister about the province which is the PML-N stronghold ever since her father former three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif joined politics and later formed his faction of PML.
About the protest which made the government reverse the plan to make vast tracts of land in Cholistan cultivable, Maryam said Punjab would have used its own share of water for the purpose.
It’s a developing story. Details to follow.
