ISLAMABAD: Umar Hayat, accused in the murder case of TikToker Sana Yousuf, pleaded not guilty on Saturday to all charges framed against him by an Islamabad court.

The trial of Umar Hayat, accused of murdering TikToker Sana Yousuf, formally began on Saturday as an Islamabad sessions court framed charges against him.

During the hearing, Additional District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Afzal Majoka directly asked the suspect: “Did you kill Sana Yousuf?” Umar Hayat denied the charge, terming all allegations “false and baseless.”

The court informed him that he also faced charges of snatching Sana Yousuf’s mobile phone. Hayat rejected this accusation as well.

A murder case was registered at Sumbal Police Station, and the suspect was arrested within 20 hours during a raid in Faisalabad. Police earlier claimed that Hayat confessed to the killing during interrogation.

The case has been adjourned until September 25, with witnesses summoned for the next hearing.
