Actress Humaira Asghar’s decomposed body found in her apartment

The body of actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali was discovered in an apartment in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority on Tuesday, police have confirmed.

According to South DIG Syed Asad Raza, Ali’s body was found in a flat in Ittehad Commercial, Phase VI. Gizri police said in a statement that the deceased was the 32-year-old actor and that she had likely died about two weeks before her body was found.

DIG Raza said the police were acting on a local court’s order to vacate the apartment. Officers reached the place at around 3:15 p.m., and when no one answered after repeated knocking, they broke the lock and went inside, where they found the body.

The Crime Scene Unit was called to collect forensic evidence. Ali had been living in the apartment as a tenant. DIG Raza said the condition of the body shows it had been there for several days, and the cause of death could not be found in the initial investigation.

The body was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a legal and medical checkup. Dr. Summaiya Syed, Police Surgeon at the hospital, confirmed the body’s arrival and said it was in an advanced stage of decomposition.
