More rains predicted across the country – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted thunderstorms and rain in several parts of the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and southern Balochistan over the next two days.

A fresh westerly wave and active monsoon currents are affecting upper and central Pakistan.

According to PMD, rain with gusty winds is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and surrounding areas. Murree and Galiyat may also receive showers, and there is a risk of landslides. Citizens are advised to stay alert.

KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA

Rain is expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, Hangu, Kurram, Kohat, Waziristan, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.

PUNJAB & ISLAMABAD

Rain is likely in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Mandi Bahauddin, Chiniot, Okara, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Kot Addu, Rahim Yar Khan, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Rain with gusty winds is expected in Islamabad.

BALOCHISTAN

Rain is expected in Barkhan, Kohlu, Musa Khel, Dera Bugti, Loralai, Zhob, Ziarat, Quetta, Kalat, Mastung, Khuzdar, Bolan, Awaran, Kharan, and Lasbela.

SINDH

Isolated rain is likely in Karachi, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Badin, Thatta, Mithi, Sanghar, Dadu, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Kashmore, and Shikarpur.

PMD has warned of urban flooding in low-lying areas of northern and central Punjab and upper KP, while flash floods are feared in streams and nullahs of DG Khan and northeastern Balochistan. Authorities have been directed to take precautionary measures.

Tourists are advised to stay cautious and check weather updates before travelling.

PMD says this fresh monsoon wave may continue to bring intermittent rain until July 12. Farmers should secure their crops and residents are advised to assist local municipal teams in managing drainage.
