Widespread rain, storms expected on Youm-e-Ashura – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted widespread rain and thunderstorms in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan on July 6, which marks Youm-e-Ashura.

As per the latest weather advisory, heavy showers are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera, and Peshawar on 10th Muharram.

The Met Office has warned of potential urban flooding in low-lying areas of Punjab due to the expected intensity of rainfall.

Meanwhile, the weather in most parts of Sindh and Balochistan is likely to remain hot and humid.

Karachi and Hyderabad may receive light rain or drizzle, especially during the early morning or night hours.

Meanwhile the weather will remain hot and humid in most parts of the country today, with chances of rainfall in some regions.

According to the Met Office, rain with thunder is expected in Kashmir, northeastern Punjab, Pothohar region, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Rain is also likely in various parts of Sindh and Balochistan. In Islamabad, the weather will remain hot, though light rain is expected in some areas.

Rain is predicted in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, and Gujrat.
Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, and Lahore may also receive rain.

Rain is expected in Sheikhupura, Kasur, Mandi Bahauddin, Okara, and Dera Ghazi Khan as well.

In Sindh, rainfall is likely in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mithi, Sanghar, Khairpur, and Mirpur Khas.

Karachi and other coastal areas may experience light rain or drizzle.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, and Mansehra.
