WEB DESK: A fictional cult from the Grand Theft Auto video game series gained unexpected attention from fans, prompting developers to expand its presence in GTA V and possibly continue it in the upcoming GTA VI, according to former Rockstar Games writer Lazlow Jones.
The Epsilon Program, introduced in GTA: San Andreas in 2004 as a parody of real-world belief systems, returned in GTA V as part of an elaborate side storyline. Players could engage in missions, collect in-game items and explore the cult’s satirical doctrine known as the Epsilon Tract.

Jones revealed in an interview that during GTA V’s development, he received a voicemail from someone claiming to represent a real version of the Epsilon cult. The caller said they were eager to learn more about the group. That unusual interaction reportedly encouraged Rockstar to further explore the cult within the game’s world, adding more depth and humour to the storyline.
The Epsilon Program has since become one of the most recognisable recurring elements in the franchise, appearing in both single-player and online content. Its unexpected popularity among players, including those who took the satire seriously, turned it into a widely discussed feature of the series.
Gaming commentators have speculated that the cult will make a return in GTA 6. Rockstar insiders and creators have suggested that fan fascination with Epsilon storyline played a huge role in shaping how it evolved in GTA V and why it may continue in future titles.
Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the cult’s appearance in GTA VI, but its growing place in the franchise suggests it is likely to remain part of the game’s satirical universe.
