The government has indicated that there may be a substantial hike in the prices of petrol and diesel over the next 15 days.
A final decision is currently under consultation, and any adjustments in prices will be made after reviewing the global market conditions and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) report.
According to the sources, during the upcoming 15 days, the price of petrol could increase by up to Rs. 10.25 per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel is expected to rise by approximately Rs. 15.01.
Additionally, the working report related to petroleum products has been submitted to the government today, which assesses the possible price adjustments.
OGRA has sent its working report regarding these products to the Ministry of Finance today. Following consultations with the Prime Minister and relevant officials, a final decision will be made.
Government sources indicate that the federal government has discretionary authority to either reduce or increase prices, and any adjustments will be made in accordance with global market trends.
