No plan to end Sehat Card in Punjab: Uzma Bukhari – HUM News

LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has clarified that there is no truth to the rumours about discontinuing the Sehat Card in Punjab.

She said certain elements are spreading false propaganda that the provincial government has ended the health card facility, which is completely baseless.

While addressing a press conference, Uzma Bukhari stated that the Punjab government will continue the Sehat Card programme to ensure free healthcare for the public.

“It is being falsely claimed that we have shut down the health card programme. The reality is that we are working to improve this facility further,” she said.

She criticised the opposition, saying they are not only uneducated but also issue negative statements without understanding government policies.

The minister added that the Auditor General’s report is also being misrepresented. She clarified that no formal audit report of the Punjab government has been released so far.

Uzma Bukhari further stated that a smear campaign is being run against Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on social media, but the public knows the truth.

She said the government is making excellent security arrangements for Muharram and that provincial ministers will visit different cities to monitor the situation.

Commenting on the Swat incident, she said the purpose is not to politicise the tragedy but to seek answers to valid questions. “We do not play politics over dead bodies,” she remarked.
