ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior granted approval for the deployment of the army across the country, including key regions such as Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
The decision comes in response to requests from all four provinces, highlighting the security fears during the upcoming Muharram observances.

A formal notification regarding the deployment was issued under Article 245 of the constitution; allowing for the use of military forces in aid of civil power when necessary.
