TEHRAN: Explosions were just heard over the Iranian capital, the country’s state media reported, as the Israel-Iran conflicts enters its fifth day.

This follows after Iran launched a joint drones and ballistic missile attacks on Israel early on Tuesday, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) vowing to continue the strikes till “morning”.
Iranian strikes had targeted key locations in Israel, including the Haifa power station. The country’s state media confirmed the attack, describing them as part of a broader strategy to target Israeli infrastructure in response to unprovoked Israeli attack on Iran on Friday morning.
Israel conducted airstrikes that resulted in the deaths of several key Iranian military personnel and scientists in Iran last Friday. The unprovoked attacks by the occupying forces was in the midst of fragile talks with the US.
The negotiations were already under strain when Israel, under the controversial leadership of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, escalated the conflict in Middle East.
The US has historically thrown full support behind Israel, including in its military endeavours, with the Republican US President reiterating this stance not long after Friday attacks. Trump expressed his support for the occupying regime.

Meanwhile, in a statement on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated in bold letter that Iran would not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Similarly, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth confirmed that the Trump administration was still seeking a peace deal with Iran.
