WEB DESK: On Monday, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, East Punjab, Pothohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and North Balochistan will be partly cloudy with the possibility of rain with gusty winds and thundershowers at a few places, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said.
During this time, hailstorm may occur at some places as well. The weather is expected to be hot and dry in other parts of the country, while it will be extremely hot in the plains, PMD said.
Going region by region, Islamabad and its surroundings will be partly cloudy with the possibility of rain with gusty winds and thundershowers at a few places, on Monday.
Likewise, in Punjab, the weather will be hot and partly cloudy in most districts. However, rain with gusty winds/surges and thundershowers are expected at a few places in Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Faisalabad, Jhang, Chiniot, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas. During this time, hailstorm may also occur at some places.
Lahore has already received a softer spell of rain on Monday morning.
In most of the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, apart from partly cloudy weather – especially in the evening and night hours – there is also a possibility of rain with gusty winds and thundershowers. This type of weather is most likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Peshawar, Charsadda, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Karak, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan and surrounding areas.
Most of the districts of Sindh are likely to remain hot and humid. However, in Mithi, Umerkot, Badin, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur, Dadu, Sukkur, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Karachi and surrounding areas, besides partly cloudy weather, there is a possibility of rain with gusty winds and thundershowers at a few places. During this time, heavy rain may also occur at a few places.
Hot and dry weather is likely in most districts of Balochistan while extremely hot in plain areas. However, rain with gusty/dusty winds is likely in Quetta, Dera Bugti, Sibi, Zhob, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Lasbela and surrounding areas.
Apart from cloudy weather in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, rain with strong winds and thundershowers at a few places. Heavy rain may also occur during this time.
Yesterday (last 24 hours in total) saw hot and dry weather in most parts of the country, while extremely hot weather was recorded in plains. However, rain with strong winds and thundershowers occurred at a few places in Central and South Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Shaheed Benazirabad.
