He said Balochistan has a deep strategic importance and vast mineral wealth, claiming the province could become the richest in the country if its resources are properly utilised.

The minister highlighted key development initiatives in Balochistan, including major road projects such as the Gwadar–Quetta Highway and the Turbat–Mand Road, which he said were strengthening regional connectivity and facilitating trade.

He noted that the federal government had launched 15 development schemes to support youth empowerment, including scholarships, vocational training, and entrepreneurship opportunities. “We are not just investing in roads and buildings — we are investing in the people of Balochistan.”

Iqbal added that new universities and the introduction of telemedicine services were helping bridge the gap in access to quality education and healthcare, especially in remote areas.

“These initiatives are designed to uplift marginalised communities, especially women and the youth, so they can play a central role in shaping Balochistan’s future,” he said, adding that the government was committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens across the province.

On the occasion, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that the provincial government will work hand-in-hand with the federal government to complete projects aimed at uplifting the people of Balochistan.
