ISLAMABAD: A four-member committee was formed on the directions of Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi to review the Supreme Court Rules 1980, a Supreme Court announcement said on Thursday.
A recommendation has been made to introduce digitalisation and automated systems in the Supreme Court Rules. Moreover, suggestions have been sought from Bar Councils and judges for improvement in judicial affairs.
The draft was submitted to CJP Afridi and other Supreme Court judges for further consideration, the announcement said.

According to the draft, the management of cases in the Supreme Court will be improved through digital platforms. The draft also includes the proposal to introduce an automated system to eliminate unnecessary delays in judicial proceedings.
After the approval of the draft, the Supreme Court Rules 2025 will be finalised, the apex court’s announcement said, adding that new reforms will be introduced in the Supreme Court for prompt and transparent delivery of justice.
